Accertify Achieves HIPAA Compliance

Fraud-detection provider Accertify announced on Tuesday that it has achieved HIPAA compliance, a move that opens the door for expanded services within the health-care sector. The certification allows the company to operate under stricter privacy standards, giving healthcare organizations more options for digital transaction management.

Accertify focuses on automating fraud detection and prevention for merchants. By aligning its operations with HIPAA, the company ensures that sensitive patient data handled during transactions meets federal security benchmarks. This alignment is increasingly important as healthcare providers digitize their billing and service delivery processes.

Healthcare organizations must handle a complex regulatory environment when adopting new payment technologies. The decision to work with vendors that hold HIPAA compliance provides a layer of security assurance that is often a prerequisite for large-scale implementation. It simplifies the vendor selection process for administrators focused on risk mitigation.

Payment performance directly influences consumer behavior in the digital economy. A recent study by Paysafe found that 64% of gamers have abandoned a gaming transaction due to checkout problems. The research surveyed 5,000 players across eight countries, including the U.S., who had conducted a game-related transaction within the last year.

Spending in the video gaming sector continues to grow rapidly. Projections from payment-technology provider Ebanx and World Data Lab suggest spending in the U.S. will almost triple by 2035, rising from $37.1 billion to $107.6 billion. This trajectory indicates that payment reliability will become a critical factor for service providers in the gaming industry.

Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency exchange Bybit enabled users to purchase 36 digital currencies using Apple Pay at no fee until September 24. The company claims to have more than 80 million users globally. This promotional offer targets mobile users who prefer the convenience of digital wallets over direct crypto transactions.

Fideo Intelligence launched Fideo Lens, a real-time platform designed to assist fraud investigations. The tool detects hidden connections among identities, accounts, devices, and behavior patterns. Such tools are becoming standard as fraud tactics become more sophisticated and harder to track manually.

Co-brand platform Imprint Payments Inc. announced a $2 billion increase in new debt funding capacity since April. The 6-year-old company, which counts Booking.com, H-E-B, and Shell among its clients, aims to use this capital to boost growth prospects. The funding increase reflects the high demand for co-branded payment solutions in retail and travel sectors.

Finally, the Payments platform Lightspeed Commerce Inc. appointed Rupal Hollenbeck to its board of directors, effective October 1. Hollenbeck, a former executive at Intel and Oracle who currently serves as president and chief business officer at NextSilicon, brings significant experience in technology and business operations to the board.
