About Us
In the summer of 2019, after months of frustration trying to find reliable, state-specific business resources for a small manufacturing project in Ohio, we realized something was missing. Every “top business sites” list we found was either too broad—ranking global platforms with no local relevance—or buried in government jargon. So we built USA Sites: a no-nonsense directory that cuts through the noise by organizing U.S. business tools by state and sector, not by some algorithm’s idea of “best.” No ads, no pay-to-play rankings, just raw HTML and a commitment to helping entrepreneurs and researchers find what actually works where they operate.
Our mission is simple: to be the first place U.S. business owners and researchers turn when they need hyper-relevant resources—whether it’s a Tennessee-specific small business grant, a Florida trade association, or a federal compliance tool that actually explains itself. We’re a small team of former freelancers, local business owners, and policy wonks who’ve all been burned by the same problem: generic advice doesn’t cut it when your challenges are tied to a specific state’s regulations, markets, or opportunities. That’s why we built this—so you don’t have to waste hours digging through irrelevant search results or outdated lists.
We’re still adding to the directory every week, and we’d love your input. If you’ve found a hidden gem of a resource that’s saved your business time or money, or if you’re tired of sifting through the same old generic lists, let us know. This is for you—so tell us what’s missing. (And if you’re curious about how we decide what to include, check out our Contact Us page.)
