Immortal to stream on SonyLIV October 30

The Tamil romantic horror film Immortal, written and directed by Mariappan Chinna, intertwines a romantic plot with a supernatural mystery. It centers on a man whose quest for affordable accommodation leads him to a woman concealing a dangerous secret.

Released in cinemas on September 4, 2026, the film is gearing up for its digital release. Immortal will stream on SonyLIV starting October 30, 2026.

The streaming platform announced the digital rollout via its verified social media channels, granting audiences access to the Tamil film online following its theatrical run. SonyLIV shared the tagline “Oru pudhu ulagam… Oru IMMORTAL kadhal!” (“A new world… an immortal love story”), highlighting the movie’s blend of romance and supernatural elements.

Immortal stars GV Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar in leading roles, with TM Karthik, Kumar Natarajan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Aaditya Kathir, Arshu Maharjan, and Pema Tsamchoe in supporting roles.

Plot and Cast

The tale originates 1,000 years ago, where a tribal couple births a child with supernatural powers. This entity’s mystical traits ignite an ancient evil that persists into modern times. The narrative shifts to present-day Chennai, where Magi (GV Prakash Kumar) works at a printing press.

Discovering a swanky apartment, Magi seeks affordable lodging. Sindhu (Kayadu Lohar) offers him rent at an unthinkably low rate. With few alternatives, Magi accepts her offer.

After settling in, he grows emotionally attached to Sindhu and falls deeply for her. Yet her unusual behaviour and the strange incidents around him raise suspicions about her hidden nature. Eventually, he uncovers the truth about Sindhu, confirming his fears.

Sindhu is revealed as a supernatural being tied to the ancient evil introduced at the film’s outset. She takes on a human appearance and lures men into her world, feeding on them. GV Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar anchor the central romantic and supernatural conflict.
