Madhuri Dixit sells Juhu flat for ₹4.4 crore

Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit and her husband, Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene, have sold an apartment in Mumbai’s Juhu neighborhood for ₹4.40 crore, earning a 127% return on their investment over 14 years.

The property, located in Iris Park within The Deep Varsha Co-operative Housing Society on Military Road, was registered in the buyer’s name on July 3, 2026. The transaction included a ₹26.40 lakh stamp duty payment and ₹30,000 in registration charges.

Sale details and property specifics

The 774 sq ft apartment sits on a lower floor of the building. According to property registration documents, the buyer is identified as Sachin Shekar Shetty. The stilt car parking space had already been sold separately in December 2025.

Dixit and Nene purchased the apartment on June 4, 2012, for ₹1.94 crore. The sale price of ₹4.40 crore reflects a 127% appreciation, a figure that aligns with broader trends in Mumbai’s premium residential markets, where long-term investments often yield significant returns.

This isn’t the first property the couple has sold in recent months. In December 2025, they sold another apartment in the same building—a 780.13 sq ft unit—for ₹3.90 crore. They had bought it for ₹1.95 crore over 13 years earlier, marking a 99.22% gain.

Celebrity real estate transactions in Mumbai often draw attention, but they also serve as a barometer for the city’s luxury property market. Juhu, in particular, has remained a hotspot for high-net-worth individuals, thanks to its proximity to film studios, upscale amenities, and a reputation for exclusivity. The area’s appeal isn’t just about location—it’s about the kind of long-term stability that turns real estate into a reliable asset class.

Broader pattern of property sales

In June 2026, Dixit also sold a 1,594.24 sq ft commercial office space in Andheri West for ₹4.85 crore. The property, purchased 18 years earlier for ₹52.5 lakh, saw an 824% appreciation, showing the potential for outsized returns in Mumbai’s commercial real estate sector.

The JVPD Scheme, where the apartment is located, has long been a preferred address for Bollywood actors, directors, and industry executives. Its mix of residential and commercial properties, along with well-maintained infrastructure, has kept demand steady even as newer luxury developments emerge in other parts of the city.

The sale adds to a growing list of high-value transactions involving celebrities, though it’s worth noting that such deals often reflect broader market trends rather than individual financial decisions. For many in Mumbai’s elite circles, real estate isn’t just about living space—it’s a hedge against inflation, a store of value, and, in some cases, a status symbol.

The couple’s decision to liquidate multiple properties within a short span may signal a strategic shift, though their reasons remain private. What’s clear is that Mumbai’s luxury real estate market continues to offer strong returns for those willing to hold assets over the long term.
